Welcome, Friend
You like it dark. But there’s no point engaging with evil without the promise of light and hope. Cracking open new dark fantasy books can promise a fun time immersed in a world filled with the Other, only to spill out all kinds of moral ambiguity, gratuitous R-rated content, and, worst of all, little to no hope. Story after story like this is draining your desire to continue, and rightly so. The real world’s bleak enough. You shouldn’t have to suppress your conscience to enjoy your reads.
Stop giving the shadows shelf space.
I’ve trudged through conscience-numbing sludge as a reader, and while I wanted to enjoy those stories, the bad taste they left was too much to reconcile. I understand what’s out there, and why darker genres can contain immediate ‘no’ content for some readers. I’m here to offer a fix for that. I write compelling dark fantasy, thriller, and horror books for adults without gratuitous content or bleak themes. Want more substance from your genre reads? My books sport unique settings and tackle tricky topics in ways that don’t force you to compromise your conscience.
“Principally, [horror is] escapism into a world of fantasy and unreality and the weird, which I think we harbor within all of us — a basic, perhaps subconscious love for things we don’t understand and don’t know.”
~Sir Christopher Lee
"What is salvation but being saved from a pit of horror?"
~Ted Dekker
